Our Team

Frank has lots of friends here at Don’t Be A Monster who help him present at schools all across the country. Meet some of our wonderful team of Don’t Be A Monster (DBAM) Program Ambassadors and Director who make the magic happen.

Name: Erin Kelley

Role: Program Director

City: Denver, CO

How long have you been with DBAM: I’ve been the Program Director for Don’t Be A Monster for 4 years.

What you do when you’re not working with DBAM: When I’m not working with Don’t Be A Monster I’m hanging at home with my fiance and our 3 cats! Don’t worry dog people – one day we’ll get a dog, too.

What you love about working with DBAM: I love a lot about working with this company. Every person that works with us has such an interesting reason for why our mission is important to them, but it all boils down to one thing. We’ve been affected by bullying in one way or another and are dedicated to being the person we wish we’d had when we were younger.

Hometown: I was born and raised in Richmond, VA and moved to Colorado in 2010.

Favorite food: My favorite food is anything that is a carbohydrate – potatoes, mac and cheese, bread.

Hobbies: Growing up my mom was a potter and I have really fond memories of her throwing on a wheel upstairs after work. That rubbed off on me and I picked up ceramics from her.

Favorite place in the world: Sandbridge Beach, VA (but it’s awful you’d hate it don’t go)

Hometown: I’m from Dallas, Texas and moved out to Colorado a few years ago for school. I love Denver, but I miss Tex-Mex every day!

Favorite Food: Hands down, Paneer Tikka Masala from Yak and Yeti. If you are ever in Denver, you have to try it!

Hobbies: I love to bake and decorate cakes for family and friends. I used to work at a bakery, and enjoy making cakes look too good to eat!

Name: Tricia Poreda

Role: Lead Presenter

City: Chicago, IL

Haunted House you work for: 13th Floor Chicago

How long have you been with DBAM: 4 years

What you love about working with DBAM: I LOVE connecting with the kids.  As a Mom of a child who was a victim of bullying, this program holds a very special place in my heart.  I tell the kids at every presentation that my job(s) allow me to save lives for a living, but my favorite one is helping teach them that THEY have the power to save a life.  We have had quite a few great success stories here in Chicago, that’s what drives me to keep giving everything I have to continue to empower kids to live the “upstander life”.

Favorite place in the world: Anywhere I can be in the sun and on the sand! Our favorite non-beach city is New Orleans, and our favorite beach destination so far is Punta Cana or the Bahamas. My husband is from Brazil and we hope to get there this year to see his family. The Maldives, Greece, and Italy are also on our short list for places we want to visit next.
